Corporate Leadership

Sanjay Varma: Sanjay founded JMATEK Group in 2007, and led it as CEO for over 5 years. In 2013, Sanjay transitioned to Vice Chairman role and now focuses on corporate strategy and corporate governance. Previously, as VP of Business Development, Sanjay was on the top leadership team at in its early days. Sanjay started his career with McKinsey & Company in India and also worked with the family trading business, Oriental American Jaima in Hong Kong. Sanjay has an undergraduate degree from University of Michigan and an MBA from Columbia University in New York. In 2013, Sanjay was awarded the "Outstanding Entrepreneurship Award" by Enterprise Asia for his leadership in building JMATEK into a global leader in home comfort and energy efficiency.

Naresh Kumra: Naresh joined JMATEK in April 2013 as Group CEO through a Management Buy-In (MBI). During 2006-12, Naresh was President - Asia Pacific with Belden Inc., an NYSE-listed technology company. During Naresh’s tenure, Belden Asia Pacific grew from US$50 million sales, 6 sales offices, 65 people trading operation to US$350 million sales, 50+ sales office, 5 plants, and 2500 people operation. Previously, Naresh spent 6 years with McKinsey & Company in New York area, advising corporations and private equity firms on variety of business issues. Naresh started his career with Schlumberger’s electronics business in France, and held several positions in France/India over 6 years. Naresh has a B.Tech. in Computer Science from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and an MBA from Darden Business School at University of Virginia (UVa). Naresh is actively engaged in promoting entrepreneurship and education. In 2009, Naresh was awarded the "Outstanding Entrepreneurship Award" by Enterprise Asia for his leadership in building leading businesses in the Asia Pacific region. 


JMATEK GLT recognizes that product innovation and regular new product launches are critical to long-term growth.  The Group is therefore looking to strengthen its product management function and hire talented sourcing officer to handle special projects like Battery, Cable reel, Emergency Light, Extension Cord, Nightlight, Power Socket, Travel Adaptor, USB Charger, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage full product life cycle, from strategic planning to tactical activities, to maximize revenue/profit growth in short/medium/long-term.
  • Develop and implement product portfolio & roadmap for all key markets.  Manage project from factory qualification, product qualification, product costing, tooling costing, compliance costing, terms and condition negotiation to achieve business plan goals.
  • Develop and implement marketing mix for each product, including, product specifications, placement, promotions and pricing.  Communicate with Sales Regions to develop sales & marketing strategy.
  • Collaborate with peers across functions to develop and execute product strategy. 
  • Provide support to Senior Sourcing Manager to achieve business goal.

Critical Competencies:

  1. Relevant Domain Expertise:  4+ years experience in Electrical Appliance Sourcing preferably on Home Comfort and Ventilation Products
  2. Strong Analytical Skills:  Detail-orientated, data-driven, analytical approach to work balanced with a pragmatic experience-based judgment.
  3. Strong Leadership Skills:  Handle multiple projects concurrently.  Strong communication and influencing skills without using authority.
  4. Winners’ Attitude:  Quick learner, pragmatic and creative with strong ambition to deliver results.  Entrepreneurial, owner’s mindset.
  5. Best-in-class Product Management Skills:  4+ years experience with a highly-respected, well-managed consumer product company.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree or above in Business, Marketing or relevant discipline.
