Specialist (Cyber Security) (Ref. 21050303-IE)

Duties

The appointee will be required to work in the Cyber Security team to:

(a) provide technical advice and consultancy on cyber security, and controls from an operational perspective to various teams in the Office and other departments of the University;

(b) conduct security assessment on information systems to ensure policy compliance and provide recommendation on remediation for non-compliance issues;

(c) handle and investigate cyber security incidents and events to protect corporate IT assets on a 7x24 on-call basis;

(d) conduct research on the development of new technology in the aspect of cyber security and develop corresponding best practices for administrators' reference;

(e) organise and conduct information security awareness training programmes;

(f) participate in the application and infrastructure development projects to ensure sufficient security protection to meet business needs;

(g) provide after-office-hour standby/emergency support as and when required; and

(h) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Office or his delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a) a recognised degree in Computing Science, Information Technology or a related discipline;

(b) preferably two years of relevant working experience in the Information Technology service industry, especially in the administrative support for various OS platforms (UNIX, Linux and Windows), server virtualization platforms (e.g. VMWare and MS Hyper-V platform) and public cloud services (e.g. MS Azure and AWS);

(c) preferably working experience in vulnerability management, security incident response and investigation, system and application penetration testing, security device administration (monitoring, logging, antivirus, IPS, DLP, WAF, etc.) and database security;

(d) preferably working experience in conducting application vulnerability assessment for web applications developed with PHP, open source web content management systems (e.g. Joomla, Drupal and Wordpress) and open source database (e.g. MySQL);

(e) preferably professional credentials in the relevant system administration and security disciplines (e.g. CCSK, CCSP, CISSP, CISA or CEH);

(f) strong analytical skills, good interpersonal and communication skills; and

(g) the ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English and Chinese. 

Remuneration and Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
