  • Manage software development project, this includes driving and monitoring feasibility analysis, development and integration of new features/enhancement/bug fixes for software, ensuring testing, integration and verification testing as per software development process defined

  • Manage and track resource/tasks assignment, progress of software integration, testing and release activities against the published project schedules and provide input to designated manager or/and program management

  • With support from Software engineering team, be responsible to drive and manage software product requirements/features from Marketing. Based on new specifications and standards, preparing and supporting preparation for project kick-off by carrying out requirement analysis, creation engineering requirement document, providing project estimate and delivery schedule and all other required collaterals needed to successfully complete the project kick-off

  • To project manage the software release in compliance to ISO and CMMI process defined. This includes using and limited to tools for project dashboard management, document control and issue tracking tool for tracking software changes

  • Working collaboratively with different stakeholder team such as validation, certification, hardware, manufacturing & test, System Engineering, Product Line Managers and Project manager to deliver the committed project deliverables per schedule and quality defined


  • Degree or above in Electronics Engineering, computer science, preferably in telecommunication, programming
  • A minimum of 15+ years progressive work experience with 10 years of experience focused on managing software projects and programs in a complex multi-location wireless/ cellular software product development environment
  • High level of competency on the following core areas:
    • Management and leadership skills
    • Project Management skill
    • Understanding of R&D and Industrial environment and context
    • Wireless Technology Background
  • Knowledge of software development best practices and some hand-on software engineering skills such as SQA processes, ISO and CMMI
  • Proactive self-starter, able to work independently with minimum supervision, flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Team spirit and ability/ willingness to work and lead in co-development scheme with other Sierra Wireless centers, professional ethic, self-initiated, flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and work under pressure
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical by nature, ability to think on his/her feet
  • Systematic and logical thinker, quick action taker
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills are required
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, collaboration and leadership skills
  • Able to communicate with stakeholders at technical and management level
  • Excellent English verbal and written communications skills. Fluency in Mandarin and Cantonese will be an advantage
