Store Design & Project Manager, Greater China (Travel Retail)

The Role:

Shiseido Travel Retail is a fast-growing organization, focusing on distribution of brands across categories from Prestige Skincare and Cosmetics to Fragrances within Duty Free Zones (Airports, Downtown Stores).

As Store Design & Project Manager, you will play a key role to both develop the Business from an In-Store and Organization standpoint in a very exciting, fast paced and dynamic environment.

You will be responsible for leading the implementation for new store openings and renovations, from adapting brand design guidelines to the space allocated by operators. You will be fully accountable on all store implementation throughout Greater China, ensuring all stores implemented are respecting the brand equity and guidelines.

Reports to: Senior Manager, Project Management & Visual Merchandising

Job Responsibilities:

1) Project Management:

• Lead pre/in/post new counters openings & renovations in Greater China regions:
  • Provide clear briefs and retro plans to key stakeholders
  • Coordinate & collaborate with key functions from Regional Design Center, TRA Visual Merchandising Team, TRA Marketing & TRA Commercial Teams.
  • Provide design solutions & technical support, adapt Brand design guidelines to allocated spaces given by retailers.
  • Oversee fabrication processes and perform quality checks prior to installations.
  • Ensure consistent ‘Best in Class’ executions for the store openings and renovations throughout the regions.
  • Coordinate installation ensuring timeliness and accuracy
  • Project outcome to be respecting the given budget.
• Be the key contact to Commercial team or retailers during time of store openings to coordinate all installations and follow up.

2) Supplier / Processes Coordination & Implementation:

• Responsible for assessing the suppliers (Vendors) capabilities / professionalism and propose the best possible vendors to cover our brands throughout Greater China regions with a quality / cost effective ratio
• Develop delegated suppliers’ capabilities, developing them with clear Brand Guidelines deployment, empowering our key external stakeholders to best support Shiseido Group in each region
• Build processes to improve efficiency of planning, quality of our In-Store execution and follow-up required for maintenance

3) Collaborate with cross-functional teams:

• Be the ears and eyes of Greater China region to relay information to the team based in Singapore across functions such as Visual Merchandising, Regional Design Center, Marketing
• Lead fluid communication between various internal and external stakeholders
• Able to develop our commercial team in field capabilities by:
  • Developing clear and sharp in-store guidelines for them to be able to report any issues in store and follow clear defined processes to fix some counter issues
  • Providing support in training the field team
• Conduct field visits to relevant key markets to review Brand’s counters and work with dedicated suppliers to better manage the hardware quality of Brand’s counters. Additional focus should be given to high profiles stores in the market.
• Keep up-to-date on competitor analysis as well as current and upcoming fashion trends across the market

Job Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree
• 5 years relevant working experience, preferably in a FMCG and/or Beauty industry with a sense of luxury counter look expectations (Experience in Travel Retail is a plus)
• Creative eye with attention to detail and aesthetic sense (architect background)
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills (Proficiency in English & Mandarin)
• Excellent organization skills, able to prioritize, plan, deliver on time
• Strong Project Management skills
• Good computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office as well as design software (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup)
• A collaborative team player able to work with remote team
• Positive and enthusiastic with a solution-oriented mindset
• Travel: 25 to 30% in average
