Salary: HK$ 17,990 per month
Entry Requirements: Applicants should have:
(a) a Higher Diploma in Geomatics or a Diploma or Higher Certificate in Land Surveying and Cartography from a Hong Kong polytechnic university / polytechnic / Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education / technical college / technical institute, or equivalent; and
(b) met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 [Notes (1)] or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent.
Note: 1) For non-civil service appointment purpose, ‘Grade E’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in previous HKCEE is accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 2’ in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
Duties: (a) To report to Senior Survey Officer and to supervise Chainman.
(b) To develop horizontal and vertical survey control network for 3D laser scanning survey of monuments and graded historic buildings and structures; and to prepare plans and 3D animation products.
(c) To maintain 3D terrestrial laser scanner and survey equipment in good adjustment and proper working condition and operate the related software; to carry out calibration of survey equipment in compliance with specifications requirement and quality management system; and to follow documentary procedures and guidelines to accomplish survey tasks.
(d) To adjust survey equipment prior to data capturing laser scanning survey of historic buildings; to conduct data capture in field and to supervise Chainman in completing the survey in field.
(e) To process field survey data to create digital site model and to compile reports for the review of Senior Survey Officer.
(f) To ensure that 3D laser scanning survey records are kept in proper manner and traceable.
(g) Any other duties as assigned by senior officers.
[Note: A Non-civil Service Contract Survey Officer may be required to work irregular hours and outdoors in heavy traffic, hilly and remote areas and under inclement weather conditions.]
Terms of Appointment: Successful applicants will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms up to 31 March 2019.
