Systems Analyst

Job Purpose:

  • Manage and implement the details of the projects, such as schedule planning, clarify user requirements, prepare functional / technical specifications, perform SIT, arrange & support UAT, production launch, etc.
  • Provide user support, production system support and arrange maintenance or upgrade of application systems.
  • Responsible for analyzing and specifying application systems requirements and design.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to the subordinates &/or team members.
  • Coordinate with software vendors to ensure the quality of their service / products.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist in conducting user requirement analysis, preparing detailed program specifications and coordinating the system installation.
  • Interact with business users and Business Analyst and assist in determining functional requirements.
  • Ensure all documentation are completed on time, maintained up-to-date and with good quality. For those prepared by subordinates, review and ensure the accuracy and integrity.
  • Assist to establish efficient and effective development methodologies, protocols and standards of practice.
  • Assist in translating functional requirements into systems requirements to ensure business needs/problems are addressed.        
  • Identify systems inputs and outputs, modifications to processes, and develop technical design, system manuals and program specifications to meet functional and technical requirements.
  • Assist in systems test design to ensure all components interact and operate effectively
  • Provide technical support to business users and Business Analyst to conduct user acceptance testing phase.
  • Coordinate with Atos Data Center Executives in production procedure set-up for launching of new systems.
  • Assume responsibility for production support in a maintenance environment and provide concrete solution to ensure the stability of such environment.
  • Handle routine technical issues.
  • Maintain current technical skills and business knowledge and develop greater technical skills and understanding of business activities in order to analyze more complex problems and design systems more appropriately.
  • Act as project leader of medium to large projects.
  • Monitor, keep track of, and report project progress and status. Escalate issues to supervisor and recommend solutions for discussions.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to the subordinates &/or team members.
  • Ensure the software vendors’ quality of their service / products.
  • Perform user support, training and cross team knowledge transfer where appropriate.
  • Perform ad hoc projects as assigned by supervisor.

Incumbent Requirements:

  • University graduate or equivalent professional qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent.
  • At least 9 - 11 years relevant experience in software development.
  • With minimum 6 - 8 years’ experience in life insurance application development is preferred.
  • Solid large scale system development experience in J2EE, 3-tier models, DB operations, etc.
  • Experience in App development, Devops &/or no-code programming is also preferable.
  • Solid large scale systems development experience in Oracle platform using Java or PL/SQL and/or Client Server environment. 
  • Hands-on experience in popular web and application servers such as Tomcat / IIS / IBM WebSphere Application Server / BEA Weblogics Server.
  • Hands-on experience in popular databases such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server.
  • LOMA &/or ANZII/ACII is also preferable.
  • Mature, independent, work with minimal supervisions, able to deliver quality results under tight schedule and meet project deadlines.
  • Good in presentation, negotiation, problem solving skills.
  • Good team player, strong writing and communication skills.
