Tax Manager, FATCA and CRS, Asia Pacific - Global Finance

Manage risks of CRS, FATCA and QI related initiatives and support business decisions to help the company continuously comply with the relevant rules through the engagement with global, regional, and local businesses and functions

Responsibilities:

  • Manage risks of CRS, FATCA and QI related initiatives and support business decisions to help the company continuously comply with the relevant rules through the engagement with global, regional, and local businesses and functions
  • As subject matter expert, interpret legislative and regulatory requirements to enable practical applications within banking environments
  • Provide commercial and pragmatic advice to help improve operating models, for example, processes, controls, governance, and implement compliance solutions, whilst facilitating the businesses to operate within the rules
  • Proactively manage, and escalate, risks and issues; Advise on mitigatory measures and provide ongoing assessment of the performance
  • Collaborate with Group businesses and functions, including Tax, in the policy setting and implementation of relevant obligations
  • Support, guide and oversight local teams in Asia Pacific and help ensure appropriate and effective training programs are put in place
  • Manage, deliver, and support internal and external assurance programs
  • Support external lobbying and related industry initiatives
  • Undertake new or emerging tax and related projects as required
  • Protect the reputation of the organisation and businesses in jurisdictions in which it operates

Requirements:

  • Overall industry experience in one or more of banking, financial services, and insurance sectors
  • Specifically, a qualified professional with deep subject matter expertise in CRS, FATCA and/or QI, ideally gained from large financial institutions and/or consulting
  • Strong advisory, engagement and analytical skills. Background may include business, governance, risk, and compliance
  • Familiar with CRS, FATCA and/or QI implementation in relation to know-your-customer and customer due diligence processes in segments such as retail, wealth management, fund management, private banking, commercial banking, trust services, insurance
  • Demonstrated ability to effect regulatory obligations and sustain ongoing compliance in multi-disciplinary team environments within large and global organisations
  • Highly effective communication and presentation skills; Ability to work towards sometimes demanding deadlines, such as external legislative milestones
  • Some experience with assurance reviews and audits is an advantage
  • Regional management experience is an advantage
  • Self-starter with excellent analytical, organisational and time management skills
  • Consideration may be given to excellent candidates with lesser experience
