The Technological and Higher Education Institute (THEi) offers over 20 innovative degree programmes that are vocationally oriented and developed with significant industry input through three faculties - Faculty of Design and Environment, Faculty of Management and Hospitality, and Faculty of Science and Technology. All the programmes are accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, and most are also accredited by the relevant professional bodies. At present, seven programmes are in the Government’s Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions / Sectors (SSSDP), which provides subsidies to students varying from $40,000 to $70,000 per year. Faculty of Science and Technology upholds the “vocationally-oriented" approach emphasizing internship opportunities for students to gain a competitive edge, with a balance of professional knowledge and practical knowledge.

The appointee shall report to the Dean and engage in teaching and related learning activities, support students in their learning, participate in academic and scholarly activities of the Faculty, and undertake academic and administrative support services.

The successful candidate should have a Master’s degree, preferably a doctoral degree, in Building Services Engineering or equivalent, and preferably with work experience in building services engineering, or with teaching or tutoring experience at tertiary level for building services engineering or related engineering programmes; good interpersonal and social skills; and high proficiency in English and preferably in Chinese, including Putonghua. Preference will be given to candidates with membership of professional institutions such as the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers. Proven records of linkage with industry or professional bodies would be an advantage.

Notes:
(1) Candidates may be appointed on part-time or temporary terms of employment.
(2) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays.
(3) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
