We are looking for a person who has extensive experience and sound knowledge on construction materials testing and understand HOKLAS requirements very well.  We invite high caliber to join us to fill in the following position:

  • The Technical Executive, is one of the key roles within the Laboratory, responsible, in liaison with the Technical Manager, Laboratory Manager, Chemists and Quality Assurance Manager for the execution of all laboratory testing construction raw material projects and activities.  
  • This role will lead a team of managers and technicians tasked with ensuring that the delivery of the laboratory tests is achieved in full compliance with the technical contract requirements and to the highest standards of quality.
  • In addition, the Executive will have primary responsibility for ensuring that all stages of construction are delivered in accordance with contract requirements and with best safety practices for the benefit of construction workers, the public, and staff all round.
  • The Executive will provide strategic, and technical leadership within a dynamic, high profile and high-pressure working environment.
  • Candidates will be visionary, strategic thinkers with demonstrable capabilities in organizational leadership, good governance, financial management, and demonstrated project management leadership.
  • To satisfy the demands of this role, candidates will need to have extensive experience at an executive level with proven ability to balance commercial, project management and stakeholder objectives within a highly complex and diverse environment.
  • Responsible for developing new tasks, services and to expand the business scope of the laboratory;
  • Drive account growth and improve account retention
  • Drive customer experience to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction and improve our Customer Allegiance Score
  • Responsible for productivity improvements through Practical Process Improvement (PPI) initiatives, leveraging best practices throughout the organization
  • People management; hire and develop staff, to ensure team members are successful and that key talent is maintained and groomed within the organization. Focus on long term organizational objectives of building bench strength through talent discussions and succession planning, aligning talent objectives to business strategy
  • Establish and enable a high performing culture focused on exceeding Key Performance Indicators
  • Occasional travel to China or other countries is required

Requirements:

  • Degree or above in Civil/Materials Engineering or above
  • A corporate member of HKIE or equivalent is required
  • Familiar with ISO / IEC 17025 system & HOKLAS and be an approved signatory for construction material testing, such as cement, PFA, concrete, aggregation, steel, calibration, grout, concrete (NDT), mortar, concrete site test, etc.
  • At least 15 years solid and relevant technical experience in constructive materials
  • Proficient in both written and spoken Cantonese, Mandarin and English
  • Knowledge on chemical testing is an advantage
  • Good leadership, communication and management skills
