Technical Officer in the School of Energy and Environment

Duties : 

  1. Develop energy engineering teaching apparatus and conduct laboratory teaching modules;
  2. Provide technical and teaching support for research and teaching laboratories;
  3. Build and design laboratory set-ups; manage, handle and maintain laboratory equipment, as well as train students on equipment operation;
  4. Work with faculty members and technical team on laboratory issues;
  5. Maintain occupational health and safety in laboratories; and
  6. Perform general laboratory or other duties as assigned.

Requirements : 

  1. A good honours degree in Chemistry/Engineering or related disciplines, with at least 2 years’ relevant laboratory experience;
  2. Extensive experience in handling, building, designing, maintaining and servicing various types of laboratory equipment and set-ups;
  3. Familiarity with general laboratory safety standards;
  4. Good communication and interpersonal skills;
  5. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
  6. Willingness to work irregular hours; and
  7. Working knowledge of programming language would be an advantage but not mandatory.

Salary and Conditions of Service
Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
