Technical Support Engineer (Ref.: TSE01JDB)

Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify solutions to hardware and software issues
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including account setup and network configuration
  • Ask customers targeted questions to quickly understanding the root of the problem
  • Track computer system issues through to resolution, within agreed time limits
  • Talk clients through a series of actions, wither via phone, email or chat, until the technical issued solved
  • Provide prompt and accurate feedback to customers
  • Refer to internal database or external resources to provide accurate tech solutions
  • Ensure all issues are properly logged
  • Prioritize and manage several open issues at one time
  • Follow up with clients to ensure their IT systems are fully functional after troubleshooting
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports
  • Document technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals
  • Maintain jovial relationships with clients
  • Willing to learn, study and practice
  • Support Sales team to drive infrastructure services business or opportunity, especially in Virtualization, SAN Storage and Backup solutions

  Requirements:

  • University Graduate / Higher Diploma holder in Computer Science or Information Technology, or relate discipline
  • 3 years or above proven work experience as a Technical Support Engineer, IT Help Desk Technician or similar role in System Integrator
  • Willing to learn new technologies and strong problem-solving skill
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot basic technical issues
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to provide step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal
  • Technical knowledge on Virtualization, Server, SAN Storage and Backup Solutions
  • Experience on below brands and technologies have advantages
  • Storage knowledge on Dell/EMC, NetApp, HPE, IBM etc.
    • Server knowledge on HPE, Dell/EMC, Lenovo etc.
    • Virtualization: Hyper-V, VMware, Citrix
    • Microsoft: Exchange, O365
    • Backup: EMC, Veeam, Commvault, Veritas
  • Holder of professional certifications would be an advantage (e.g. VCP)
  • Less experience will be considered as Assistant Technical Support Engineer

  General details:

  • 5-day work (Mon – Fri), 9:00 am – 5 : 30 pm
  • Public holidays
  • Paid annual leave: 14 days per year
