The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) offers 22 innovative degree programmes that are vocationally oriented and developed with significant industry input. All the programmes are accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, and most are also accredited by the relevant professional bodies. In 2019/20, twelve programmes are in the Government’s Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions / Sectors (SSSDP), which provides subsidies to students varying from $41,700 to $72,800 per year. (a) To assist in the setting up of laboratory facilities and services for the Faculty;
(b) To assist in the installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of computers, audio and visual equipment, electrical and lighting equipment, other equipment and apparatus;
(c) To support the day-to-day operation and management of the laboratories;
(d) To assist academic staff and students in preparation, demonstration, laboratory or practical classes and projects;
(e) To assist in the procurement of consumables and equipment;
(f) To assist in the development and implementation of projects assigned; and
(g) To undertake any other duties as required.
(a) A recognized diploma or higher certificate, preferably a higher qualification, in Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering or related fields;
(b) Possession of Certificate of Registration of Electrical Worker (REW) Grade A, B or C;
(c) At least 2 years’ work experience, preferably in tertiary education institutions or related laboratories;
(d) Good communication and interpersonal skills; and
(e) Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua.
(1) Candidates may be appointed on temporary terms of employment.
(2) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays as necessary.
(3) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
(4) The appointee will work on Tsing Yi campus.
