The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) offers over 20 innovative degree programmes that are vocationally oriented and developed with significant industry input. All the programmes are accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, and most are also accredited by the relevant professional bodies. In 2018/19, twelve programmes are in the Government’s Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions / Sectors (SSSDP), which provides subsidies to students varying from $41,000 to $71,700 per year. The appointee shall:
(a) be responsible for graphic design projects and the content development, production, maintenance as well as enhancement of multimedia (e.g. websites, electronic noticeboards and social media) for communication and promotion of student activities, events and special projects;
(b) provide audio-visual (video, photography), venue set-up and technical support to events and activities;
(c) assist in the procurement of related materials and equipment; and
(d) assist and support operations and other services provided by the Student Development Office as required.
The successful candidate should have:
(a) a recognized diploma or higher certificate in Multimedia / Digital Media / Creative Media / Information and Communications Technology / Web-based Technology, or equivalent;
(b) at least 2 years’ relevant work experience in the related fields;
(c) solid experience in digital photography, video production, website development and server maintenance;
(d) strong skills in Mac and major design software including Adobe Creative Suite (e.g. Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Flash and Dreamweaver) and other related design software;
(e) proficiency in PC skills, including Chinese and English word processing;
(f) strong initiative, good communication skills and interpersonal skills;
(g) ability to work independently and be a good team player; and
(1) The candidate may be appointed on short term or part-time terms of appointment.
(2) Applicants invited for interview will be required to present his/her design or/and web portfolio.
(3) The appointee may be required to work irregular hours or shifts and perform duties on Saturdays and Sundays as necessary.
(4) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
