The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) offers over 20 innovative degree programmes that are vocationally oriented and developed with significant industry input. All the programmes are accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, and most are also accredited by the relevant professional bodies. In 2018/19, twelve programmes are in the Government’s Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions / Sectors (SSSDP), which provides subsidies to students varying from $41,000 to $71,700 per year. The School of General Education & Languages offers core modules in languages, humanities, sciences and social sciences. Its elective modules, based on the interest of individual students, are also integrated into the curriculum to provide a structured platform for whole-person development.
(a) To assist in the setting up of facilities and equipment for the language laboratories of the School;
(b) To be responsible for the installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of computers, servers, network, audio-visual, lighting and other educational equipment;
(c) To provide technical and operational support and guidance to staff and students in learning and teaching-related activities;
(d) To assist in the procurement and inventory control of consumables, equipment and systems;
(e) To maintain the laboratories safe, clean and tidy; and
(f) To undertake the day-to-day website maintenance.
(a) A recognised diploma or higher certificate in Information Technology or related fields with at least 2 years’ relevant work experience, preferably with experience in language laboratory;
(b) Good knowledge of operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of computer hardware and networking;
(c) Proficiency in using various Microsoft, Adobe, Apple Macintosh, Adobe Creative Cloud 2015 and applications of common computer or educational software;
(d) Practical knowledge in using Windows 2012/2016 server, Active Directory and Window IIS 10 server;
(e) Ability to work independently and to be a good team player;
(f) Good interpersonal and communication skills; and
(g) Proficiency in both English and Chinese.
(1) Candidates may be appointed on temporary terms of appointment.
(2) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays as necessary.
(3) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
