Major Duties:
(a) To assist in the setting up of laboratory facilities and services for the Department;
(b) To set up, operate, troubleshooting, maintain and manage CNC machines, 3D printers, computers, all other related equipment / apparatus / hardware / software and provide technical support;
(c) To assist lecturers in demonstration, laboratory / practical classes / projects;
(d) To be responsible for the updating of laboratory exercise instruction sheets and safety manual, and assist in enforcing the overall safety regulations;
(e) To assist in the procurement and control of relevant stores, inventory and consumables as well as tools and equipment to be used in the laboratories;
(f) To assist in estimating yearly laboratory budget and keep track of the monthly expenditures; and
(g) To maintain the cleanliness and tidiness in the designated areas of the operational unit.

(a) A recognised diploma or higher certificate in the Engineering discipline or equivalent, preferably in the field of Mechatronics / Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering;
(b) At least 2 years’ relevant work experience;
(c) Knowledge in using common computer / educational software;
(d) Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese;
(e) Good communication and interpersonal skills, able to work independently and be a good team player; and
(f) Knowledge / skills in one or more of the following areas would be an advantage:

(i) Programmable logic controller programming and applications
(ii) CNC machine operation
(iii) Robot arm programming and operation

(1) Shortlisted candidates may be required to attend and pass a trade test.
(2) Candidates should specify their knowledge and skills of relevant equipment and software in section (VII) “OTHER INFORMATION" on the application form.
(3) The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties at different sites and/or outside normal office hours.
