Overview of Role

The Insider Threat team's mission is to partner with internal and external risk and technology organizations to continuously identify, deter, prevent, detect, respond, and report evolving threats originating from employee or contingent worker misuse of authorized access to Morgan Stanley systems and information. The Asia Insider Threat Outreach lead is responsible for establishing close partnership with regional management and business unit stakeholders, aligning their Insider Threat risk mitigation objectives, priorities and risk appetite with that of the Global Insider Threat program. The role will require an understanding of Asia regulatory, policy, privacy/employment law requirements to ensure compliance and driving external engagements to keep abreast of the evolving threat landscape and mitigation innovations. Key components of the role will require:


  • Providing strategic and objective Insider Threat advisory services to partner and support business units.
  • Support requests to address business unit specific risks, assisting in threat modeling, business requirements, control design, and control solution coordination.
  • Organize regional meetings, working group sessions, and business unit specific client meetings.
  • Inventory existing controls and partner with control platform owners and operations teams.
  • Communicate control enablement roadmaps to address legal, compliance, regulatory and business unit risks.
  • Maintain communications plan to capture and ensure project deliverables are driven to closure
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant insider threat, information security, risk management, and project management experience- Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills and experience with interpreting requirements and implementing use cases applying Insider Threat program approach and methodology- Ability to work in a work in a fast paced environment including translation of complex concepts and issues into insights for Senior Management and non-technical audiences- Demonstrate expertise in working with and handling extremely sensitive materials- Awareness of latest cyber security trends and Asia regulatory landscape- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills- Strong oral and written communications skills- Ability to work independently on initiatives with little oversight- Ability to collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience- CRISC, CISSP, CISM or other relevant Information Security certificationManagement consulting experience a plus
