Student Development Discipline Office

Major Duties of Lecturer:
(a) To perform teaching duties including supervision of students’ projects and fieldwork placement;
(b) To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration;
(c) To develop and refine programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials;
(d) To act as Module Co-ordinator / Leader of Structured Whole Person Development (SWPD) Programme;
(e) To plan, design, organise and evaluate student developmental programmes;
(f) To assist in validation and accreditation of programmes; and
(g) To participate in networking with industry / industrial attachments, departmental projects and functions including but not limited to consultancy services, research studies, seminars and exhibitions.
Requirements for Lecturer:
(a) A recognised degree in Social Science, Social Work, Liberal Studies, or relevant discipline, or professional qualifications, preferably with a post-graduate qualification;
(b) At least 3 years’ relevant teaching and/or industry experience, preferably with experience in teaching and developing generic skills modules;
(c) A good team player with the ability to work independently under pressure;
(d) Good communication and presentation skills in both English and Chinese; and
(e) Experience in teaching and supporting students with Special Educational Needs will be an advantage.
(1) Candidates with less experience may be considered for the post of “Term / Temporary Teaching Associate".
(2) Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend a written assessment in English.
(3) The appointee may be required to perform duties in different sites and/or outside normal working hours and/or outside campus.
(4) In support of the Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) Scheme launched by the Hong Kong Police Force, all prospective appointees will be requested to undergo the SCRC at the advanced stage of the employment process.
