We are looking for a high caliber professional to join the branch of Centre of Professional Development of CLP Power Learning Institute of CLP Power Hong Kong Limited.

Reporting to the Assistant Manager - Professional Development, the appointee will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Develop and manage training plan to cater for the trainee and apprentice training and HSSE, technical and operational requirements of the trainees and apprentices and evaluate and revise training programmes / courses to ensure the contents and schedules meet stakeholders’ training needs
  • Support in the design and establishment of trainee and apprentice training framework and develop corresponding training and assessment framework and training methodologies to ensure training efficiency and effectiveness
  • Develop and maintain training materials to ensure their relevance and validity and the continuous improvement of the training process, especially upon changes in legislation, professional bodies requirements, company rules, and also new installations, plant modifications, technologies and methodologies
  • Oversee assigned workshops’ training programmes and facilities
  • Act as the contact person and administrator of the HKIE Scheme A Engineering Training Programs
  • Support and coordinate the liaison between CLP Power Academy and external academic/ vocational training institutes in developing training activities and programs
  • Promote professional development activities for building up CLP engineers' professional capability and acquiring professional qualifications through facilitating CLP employee’s participation in conferences, seminars, technical meetings, technical papers submission, competitions in events organized by external local and international professional institutes
  • Support company’s recruitment programs promotion and processes including trainee and apprentice recruitment assessment
  • Explore, and establish new professional programmes that uplift staff qualification and attract external parties to join the Power Industry
  • Identify HIPO candidates through training involvement on workforce capability planning and succession plan at junior levels. Support in design and implement workforce capability-need focused curriculums in training programmes for early development for workforce succession.


  • A recognized Bachelor Degree in Engineering discipline; or Human Resources Management / Training / Psychology or related disciplines (appointment as Senior Training Specialist)
  • Corporate membership of a recognized professional institute or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of experience in engineering and/ or trainee management
  • Managing and liaising on people development/trainee programs is an advantage
  • Knowledge in engineering field and Train-the-Trainer certification would be an advantage
