Compliance plays a critical role in the successful execution of the firm's compliance mission. The Compliance function ensures the development and maintenance of a strong compliance culture by developing and maintaining a program infrastructure that identifies measures and monitors adherence with applicable laws, regulations and rules that govern our business globally. Compliance teams work closely with business, corporate functions, legal, risk, and audit teams to provide expertise on regulatory compliance matters, assess and measure compliance and related risks, and monitor and test the adequacy of the firm's compliance control environment.
The Hong Kong Compliance team has the responsibility to ensure lines of business’s and corporate functions’ compliance to local law and regulations, as well as their adherence to the firm’s policies & practices.
We are currently seeking a high caliber individual to join our Hong Kong Compliance team. The candidate will be responsible for providing regulatory advice to stakeholders in relation to technology, privacy and outsourcing matters in Hong Kong.
The individual will work with a broad and diverse set of stakeholders across the firm, including location senior business management, legal, colleagues within compliance who covers other lines of business (LOB) and functions, and other control and risks counterparts.
Responsibilities
  • Advise LOB, corporate functions and technology groups on Hong Kong technology, privacy and outsourcing regulatory requirements
  • Assess and review technology, privacy and outsourcing related engagements (e.g. new business initiatives, e-banking and fin-tech initiatives, outsourcing engagements)
  • Act as the regulatory liaison on technology, privacy and outsourcing subject areas, and facilitate the communications between regulators and internal stakeholders
  • Manage regulatory exams, and partner with stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of responses to regulatory requests
  • Handle regulatory notification assessment and the reporting of technology-related or data breach incidents
  • Act as the second line of defense, and support the implementation of relevant Compliance programs in Hong Kong (e.g. record retention remediation)
  • Support the execution of other compliance initiatives as required
  • Minimum 7 years relevant experience in compliance, risks or control functions or within the financial services industry
  • Knowledge of Hong Kong regulatory requirements around Technology Risk, Data Protection, Privacy, Cloud and Outsourcing;
  • Detailed oriented, with good analytical skills and ability to handle complexities1
  • Ability to collaborate and build strong partnerships with staff across business, technology and operations as well as lines of businesses
  • Must be a team player;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills in English;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • High energy and drive;
  • Proven solid skills in office documentation software and applications (MS project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Access; SharePoint is a plus)
  • Immediately available is highly preferred
