The Asia Private Bank business is currently conducted out of two locations, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Our Team

The Solutions & Product Development Team ("SPD") is focused on delivering high impact product initiatives. The team works in conjunction with the Cross Asset Trading, Cross Asset Solutions and Managed Solutions leaderships, and partners closely with the Investment business, legal, risk management, compliance, controls, operations, technology to achieve & support the following agendas:

  • New Product & Business Solutions
  • Platform Development
  • Regulatory Initiatives
  • Trading Process Improvements
  • Day-to-Day Business Management for Trading Desk

The Role

The Vice President, China onshore Solutions & Product Development will be based in Hong Kong and reports to the Head of Asia Solutions Product Development. The role will partner closely with the China onshore program team and key business stakeholders to drive the build-out and launch of our investment product distribution capabilities for the China onshore private banking business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work extensively with the China onshore program team to assist with the program across business model and strategy alignment, target operating model definition, product capabilities and execution to launch the business.
  • Analyse investment offerings and business models across the China wealth management market, and partner with various trading, derivatives and managed solutions desks to define the scope of product offerings for the onshore business.
  • Define product and solution priorities and provide input on feasibility, effort and alternative options with a reasonable time-to-market.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, Risk and Control teams to timely identify and address areas of risk & regulatory exposure.
  • Develop, own and maintain solutions & products related processes and procedures.
  • Effectively prioritize workload and keep others informed of progress with timely and consistent program updates reporting and documentation. Demonstrate attention to detail and consistently produce quality work.
  • Proactively identify potential roadblocks / obstacles and escalate.
  • Build relationships with all stakeholders, demonstrate the ability to identify, partner, and navigate with players and key SMEs and functions within the J.P. Morgan platform.


  • 7+ years of experience within the Asset or Wealth Management industry focusing on product development, end-to-end implementation and process re-engineering
  • Relevant China onshore wealth management experience in financial institutions highly preferred
  • Experience in project management, specifically in large-scale project planning and investment product distribution model development preferred
  • Highly disciplined individual, self-motivated, fast learner, performs well under pressure in dynamic environment.
  • Extremely organized and delivery focused with the ability to work independently and balancing multiple priorities, while remaining focused on accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to deliver solutions to a tight deadline regardless of complexity.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment, with people at all levels across all functions including ability to engage with senior management.
  • Excellent communicator who can message complex information into a simple pitch, in both physical and virtual meetings. Strong presentation skillset required to prepare program deck materials.
  • Strong problem solving skill. Ability to break down complex problems into components and find innovative solutions to a wide variety of compliance, legal, technological, and behavioural constraints.
  • Native Mandarin speaker with fluency in English is a must. Other Asian languages such as Cantonese would be a bonus.
  • Strong proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
